Becoming Lost and Found in Translation

Come and join the “Becoming Lost and Found in Translation” project today!
Where were you born? How do you say “I come from here” in your language? This is a place for you to correspond with each other in multiple languages, to share your heritage and to learn about many different cultures. How do you say “I belong here” in your language?
Add your pin to the map and join up with others from the UAL PG Community. It is on a platform called Padlet that you may already know and we use at UAL as a collaborative digital community thought space.

You can post your thoughts to our Instagram: @bla.bla.bla.translation is a place for you to correspond, in multiple languages, to share heritages and to learn about different cultures. Look out for weekly challenges and stories from students at UAL and beyond.

It is year 3 of an interactive, participatory co-designed research project, “Becoming Lost and Found in Translation” involving London College of Communication and UAL students and staff investigating how acts of translation can enhance learning and critical thinking.

It uses our collaboratively constructed Design School Manifesto as a starting point and has now been translated into over 45 languages. This project has started to put the use of translation at the forefront of learning and as a way of creating a better sense of belonging and to help the way we learn.
