Writing Retreat: becoming a senior fellow of the HEA
Would you like to become a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, but haven’t found time to apply? Join this dedicated writing retreat to work on your application and receive specialist support.
About HE Fellowship
Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) is one way to recognise your professional development as a teacher and supporter of learning. Senior Fellowship is for colleagues who can demonstrate a proven, sustained track record in HE level teaching, management/mentorship/support of peers and are seeking to progress into leadership positions.
Senior Fellowship signals to the sector that a person is an experienced academic who is reflective about how they support learning and that they have managed/supported/mentored others to enhance their teaching practice.
The Application Process
Application for Senior Fellowship consists of a 3000 – 5000 word reflection, and two 1000 word case studies of your practice. The application is reviewed internally by a panel of peers who are able to award HEA Accredited Professional Recognition.
The writing retreat, 1st April, Cockpit Arts
The writing retreat aims to offer a day away in order to concentrate on your application and provide focused time to reflect, write and share thoughts. The day will be lightly structured, but by the end it is likely that you will have:
- Sketched out the structure of your Reflective Account of Practice and Case Studies
- Identified areas of practice that you could evidence and reflect upon, as well as how they will fit within the Reflective Account of Practice
- Begun writing-up some of your examples of practice
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Spaces are limited, booking is essential. Please RSVP to cltad@arts.ac.uk along with any dietary requirements.
