Call for Proposals! Learning & Teaching Day 2015

Wing WalkersCreative Teaching: supporting risk taking and innovation at UAL

Venue: London College of Communication

The 2015 Learning and Teaching Day will focus on the ways we can take risks and innovate to improve learning and teaching at UAL. Participants will explore creative approaches to teaching and supporting learning across our diverse disciplines and spaces, including workshops, lecture halls, libraries and studios.

Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 15th October 2014 (5pm)
All proposals should use the L&T Day Proposal Form and be emailed to Siobhan Clay: s.clay@arts.ac.uk. 

Colleagues are invited to submit outline proposals for workshops, papers, posters or lightening talks. This year we particularly welcome contributions that address:

  • Teaching creatively
  • Innovation in teaching
  • Applying creative teaching approaches across the diverse disciplines at UAL
  • Teaching creativity
  • Cross-disciplinary creative teaching partnerships
  • Taking risks to enhance learning and teaching
  • New approaches to teaching that support today’s contexts
  • Creative workshop approaches
  • Creative use of resources/IT/collections to support student learning

Each submission should include:

• Name/s of contributor
• An abstract (maximum 300 words)
• A description of the type of session (paper/workshop/poster/lightning talk)

The proposals will be peer reviewed against the following three criteria:

  • Engagement with the conference theme
  • Potential for participation and engagement as part of proposed session
  • Relevance to wider UAL community
