Deleuze: philosopher of education? Discuss at pedagogy reading group

UAL staff are welcome to join the first Pedagogy Reading Group session of 2015/16.  We will be looking at the same text on two dates:

  • Tuesday 29th September 17:30 – 19:00, High Holborn, room tbc
  • Tuesday 6th October 13:00 – 14:00pm, High Holborn, room tbc

The text for reading is Inna Semetsky’s Deleuze as a Philosopher of Education: Affective Knowledge/Effective Learning (2009) The European Legacy, 14.4, 443-56.

Deleuze has been cited in art colleges for some 20 years and many artists and teachers ally themselves to his theoretical work. But what does this mean for pedagogy in art, design and communications? Semetsky’s article may provide us with a point of departure (a line of flight?) to explore this question.

Please RSVP to k.dwyer@arts.ac.uk stating which date you wish to attend (as places are limited). If you have any issues accessing the text please let Katharine know.
