Call for papers! Copenhagen conference on Art of Management and Organization

UAL staff are invited to submit papers for the stream: INTEGRATIVE ARTS-BASED INITIATIVES FOR ENHANCING STRATEGIC DESIGN AND BUSINESS INNOVATION for the 7th Art of Management and Organization Conference, 28-31 August 2014, Copenhagen.

Deadline for abstracts (up to 500 words): 5th December 2013. The focus is on how arts-based approaches can be applied to solving business problems in ways that deploy at least two distinctive arts.

Any type of application is welcomed:

(a) Case studies of actual practice in organisations, or in higher educational curriculum design
(b) Extrapolations from actual or conventional practice
(c) Speculative, futuristic applications of dominantly arts-based approaches that have not yet been attempted, particularly at the strategic level of organisations, drawing from a substantial “palette” of arts-based methods. These could, for example, be based on détournement of classically rational strategic methods
(d) technology approaches to underpin integrative arts-based initiatives, particularly through online communities
(e) any other approach that fits within the overall theme of the stream
